Yorktown Hydrant Flushing Scheduled

Customers are cautioned to make sure the water is clear before washing clothes because staining may occur.

YORKTOWN, NY — Fire hydrants in the Yorktown Consolidated Water District will be flushed in part of Sections 1, 2 and 4.

The flushing will begin between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, April 1 and will continue through May 3.

Flushing may cause some discoloration of water. That doesn’t represent a health hazard. However, customers are cautioned to make sure the water is clear before washing clothes because staining may occur. If you experience discolored water, run the cold water in all your faucets until it clears.
