Yorktown Man Accused Of Being No-Show At Court
Police said the man had originally been accused of stealing.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 23-year-old Yorktown man was accused of not showing up for a court appearance.
The Yorktown Police Department said Thomas J. Marcello-Bates, 25, of Yorktown, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and misdemeanor failing to appear for a scheduled court appearance in connection with the petit larceny charge.
Police said, at 6 p.m. June 28, Marcello-Bates didn't show up to a scheduled court appearance in the Yorktown Justice Court, and an arrest warrant was issued.

Around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, officers were on patrol in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy at 2000 Commerce St. when they said they saw Marcello-Bates go into the store.
Police said they saw him leave the store with a basket of merchandise.

Marcello-Bates was arrested on the open warrant.
Police found that he had stolen merchandise from CVS, passing all points of purchase without paying.
Marcello-Bates was taken to Yorktown Police Department for processing.
He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 13.
