Yorktown Man Sues Kim Kardashian Over Instagram Post
A new lawsuit claims the reality star confused the man with a convicted murderer.

YORKTOWN, NY — A local man is suing celebrity Kim Kardashian over an Instagram post which mixed him up with a convicted murderer with the same name.
The New York-based law firm of Sobo & Sobo said it filed the case Feb. 20 on behalf of Ivan Cantu in Superior Court in Los Angeles.
The lawsuit claims Cantu, a Yorktown resident, suffered serious emotional damage because of Kardashian’s 2024 post. According to multiple media reports, Kardashian was referencing a Texas man on death row, but instead used a photo of the local man.

Attorney Greg Sobo, who is representing Cantu, said those who injure others through social media “must be held responsible.”
“If anyone should know the power of social media, it is Ms. Kim Kardashian,” he said.
