Yorktown Man Who Hit Victim With 'Hard, Plastic Toy' Faces Felony Assault Charge: Police

Police say that the 38-year-old wasn't just playing around, but instead intended to cause physical injury to the victim.

YORKTOWN, NY — A strange case of apparent domestic violence has led to felony charges against a Westchester man, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that a 38-year-old Yorktown resident was charged with felony second-degree assault.

On August 20, around 7:16 p.m., several officers responded to a Yorktown home after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.

After an investigation, police concluded that Kenneth McGuigan struck the victim with a hard, plastic toy in order to intentionally cause a physical injury.

On August 21, McGuigan voluntarily surrendered himself to the Yorktown Police Department. He was then arrested, processed, and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court. The judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.

McGuigan was released on bail, and is scheduled to appear back in the Yorktown Justice Court on September 4.
