Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps To Hold Open House

The event will be a chance to learn more about the corps, meet volunteers and more.

YORKTOWN, NY — The public is invited to an open house celebrating the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

The open house will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the ambulance corps’ headquarters at 2600 Loretta St. in Yorktown Heights.

Organizers said this past year marked the 60th anniversary of the corps, and the open house is being hosted a few weeks before National EMS Week, which is in May.

At the open house, visitors will be able to tour an ambulance, learn more about the corps, build a first aid kit and meet some of the volunteers.

Members come from all walks of life, spanning more than 50 years of age. They’ve grown up in the area and are certified and licensed in many trades and occupations.

The Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a not-for-profit Basic Life Support provider, that has provided emergency medical service in the town of Yorktown since 1963.
