- According to a news release from the Asheville Police Department, a dog was stabbed and killed at Weaver Park while its owner was playing pickleball on Monday. Henry is under a $10,000 secured bond and is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility. (Citizen Times)
- The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office has recommended that the City of Asheville review its camping ban ordinance in its recent 16-page report addressing the homelessness crisis downtown. However, Asheville City Attorney Brad Branham stated that the current ordinance is enforceable and does not require revisiting. The focus now is on the city's panhandling ordinance, with potential suggestions for changes due to complaints of panhandling outside grocery stores and on highway medians. (WLOS)
