• Man arrested in connection to Sampson County arson from September 2023, deputies say (cbs17.com) — An arrest has been made in connection with a 2023 house fire on Delway Highway in Sampson County, reported from Clinton. Investigators say video evidence helped them determine the blaze was intentionally set, leading to charges of first-degree arson and felony cruelty to animals. Local fire departments and the Sampson County Fire Marshal’s Office worked closely with deputies on the case.
