• White takes seat as new member of elections board (clintonnc.com) — A new Sampson County Board of Elections member from Clinton, Hannah White, has been sworn in as the board approved key changes that affect how Clinton West voters cast ballots in 2026. Members backed a temporary transfer so those residents can vote at the Exposition Center and advanced a revised personnel budget while continuing to recruit a new deputy director.
   

• Dark Horses sweep rival Leopards (clintonnc.com) — Clinton basketball fans saw a big night Friday as the Dark Horses swept county rival Lakewood at home, with JV boys and both varsity squads earning wins. Clinton’s pressure defense and balanced scoring stood out, while Lakewood showed grit with a furious boys varsity comeback that fell just short in a 68–62 thriller.
