Cornelius Police Department Mourns One Of Their Own
A Cornelius Police Officer passed away due to a health issue after hours.
CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its officers according to a post shared by the department on Wednesday.
"It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the loss of one of our own, Officer Joshua Murray. Officer Murray passed away this morning after an off-duty medical event," the post rea.
"Officer Murray had been with our department since April of 2019 and was assigned to the Field Operations Division where he worked on the Lake Patrol Unit. Officer Murray also served on our Mobile Field Force Team."

CPD asks for thoughts and prayers as family, friends and colleagues mourn Murray.
"Officer Murray, you were a faithful and dedicated member of our department and your loss will leave an impact on our agency. May you rest in eternal peace. We have the watch from here," the post said.
