Here's Where You Can Get Free Potassium Iodide In Cornelius

CORNELIUS, NC — Area residents who live or work near McGuire Nuclear Power Plant may pick up a supply of potassium iodide at the Cornelius Police Department.

Anyone living in the 10-mile emergency planning zone near the nuclear power plant is eligible to receive two 130 mg doses per person living in their home, according to Mecklenburg County Public Health.

"If you would like to pick some up for yourself, we ask that you please visit our department Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.," Cornelius Police Department said. "We will have you fill out a quick form when you come by for distribution."
