  1. An early morning shooting in Durham left one man dead at the scene. On NC 54 Highway, police responded to a shooting at 7:04 a.m., but when they arrived, they found a man who had been shot and pronounced him to be dead. Police believe it was an isolated incident but ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200. (ABC 11)
  2. North Carolina-based Mystic Farm and Distillery wants to send whiskey bottles to space to age. But with current state liquor laws, it would be taxed thousands of dollars. State legislators are now looking into overhauling the law to rework the liquor tax so 'space whiskey' would be taxed at a flat rate. (WSOC TV)
  3. As the growing demand for train service continues, Amtrak and NCBYTRAIN partner to bring more trips to the Piedmont and Carolinian rails. Both rails offer five daily roundtrips for travel between Raleigh, Charlotte, Cary, Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury, and Kannapolis. Riders will also get new departure times and schedule adjustments. (Amtrak.com)
