The city manager says the ban targets disruptive behavior, not content, while some council members and residents argue it goes too far in limiting public access and participation.

A Duke Pediatrician's Gift of Trees is Helping Fight Heat and Planting Hope (duke.edu) — A Duke pediatrician in Durham County is quietly transforming local neighborhoods by growing and giving away hundreds of native trees to residents and groups like Keep Durham Beautiful. Working from his Panther Creek Forest Farm, he collects seeds from around Durham, raises seedlings with volunteers, and donates them to help restore the city’s tree canopy, cool streets, and improve community health.
   

4. Butner authorities: Man arrested, four more wanted for robbing store & tying up employees (wral.com) — Law enforcement in nearby Granville County are still searching for four men after an armed robbery at a Creedmoor business where employees were tied up. A Durham County deputy helped stop the getaway vehicle on I-95, leading to one arrest, while Butner Public Safety and Crime Stoppers are asking anyone with information to contact them.
