- Durham police are investigating the shooting of a minor at the Cornwallis Road Housing Complex on Monday afternoon. The victim, whose injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made in the case as of Tuesday, as the investigation is ongoing; those with pertinent information are urged to contact CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200. (ABC 11)
- The Diaper Bank of North Carolina's Durham branch recently received a $100,000 grant from the United Way of the Greater Triangle. The funds will go toward supporting the Essentials Hub, which provides mobile distribution of diapers, period products, and more to those in the community. Representatives from the organization say the hub can expand the Diaper Bank's reach by 4,000 people and over 166,000 diapers. (CBS 17)
- This Friday, Jun. 16, the City of Durham will host the Third Friday Durham Art Walk & Gallery Crawl. The event, scheduled for 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Durham Bottling Company, will highlight the "Peace by Piece: Art, Belonging, and Community" gallery created by Durham artists of all backgrounds. The community is invited to come out for the gallery walk, reception, and celebration; free food will be available. (City of Durham NC Government via Instagram)

- The LGBTQ Center of Durham is hosting its inaugural Pride Drag Show this Saturday, Jun. 17. The show will take place at Glass Jug at 8:30 p.m., and $1 from each drink purchased will go directly to the center. (LGBTQ Center of Durham via Facebook)
- Reminder: many of the City of Durham's offices will be closed for Juneteenth (Monday, Jun. 19). Waste and recycling services will be delayed by one day, and Durham Transit will be running on a Sunday schedule. (City of Durham, NC Government via Facebook)
- The Durham County Main Library will host three screenings of "HEART: Service Our Neighbors in Crisis" — Thursday, Jun. 15 at noon, Wednesday, Jun. 21 at 6:00 p.m. (in Spanish), and Wednesday, Jun. 28 at 6:00 p.m. The film shows the work of the City of Durham's Holistic Empathetic Assistance Response Teams (HEART), a public safety response that aims to connect people with the care they need.
