Bob’s Discount Furniture Opens New Durham, NC Location

DURHAM, NC — Bob’s Discount Furniture, one of the fastest-growing furniture retailers in the country, officially opened its newest store in Durham on Friday, Oct. 17.

The 33,839-square-foot store, located at Patterson Place, 3616 Witherspoon Blvd., Ste 103, was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local dignitaries, Bob’s leadership, and community members.

As part of the celebration, Bob’s presented $5,000 in charitable donations to two local organizations:

• Urban Ministries of Durham, provides food, shelter, clothing, and supportive services to people experiencing homelessness and poverty, including case management and three daily free meals.

• Sherwood Githens Middle School, supports educational programs for students in the local community.

Guests at the grand opening also enjoyed complimentary snacks and refreshments from Bob’s in-store café, which offers coffee, ice cream, cookies, and candy at all locations.

Dignitaries who attended the Durham grand opening included Principal Crystal Cahill of Sherwood Githens Middle School; Susan Drum, Center Operations Specialist, USO North Carolina; Katie Kassa, Raleigh Center Operations Specialist, USO North Carolina; and Maurice McKissett, Store Manager at Bob’s Discount Furniture.
