- The Durham Bulls triumphed over the Charlotte Knights at a home game Sunday evening at the Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls started the game out aggressively, and maintained their advantage over the course of the innings, tying it in a knot at 15 - eight in the Bulls' favor by the end of the evening. The Bulls go up against the Syracuse Mets today (Jun. 20) at 6:35 p.m. (Our Sports Central)
- A crash killed a woman on Saturday, Jun. 17, at the intersection of North Roxboro Street and East Channing Avenue. At around midnight, Jermaine Johnson, 50, was driving and collided with 50-year-old Jackie Start, who was pushing a wheelchair in the right lane. On arrival, emergency first responders pronounced Start dead on the scene. Per authorities, Johnson remained at the scene and was uninjured, with both speed and impairment ruled out as factors in the crash. (WRAL)
- Duke University's Director of Swimming and Diving, Brian Barnes, announced on Monday that Coleman Stewart is the new assistant coach. Stewart is a storied competitor in swimming and diving, having broken the world record for short course 100-meter backstroke on Aug. 29, 2021, in Italy. Stewart also placed in the 2019 World University Games and competed in the 2015 and 2020 US Olympic trials. He is a 2021 graduate of North Carolina State University. (Go-Duke Athletics)

- Grab your dancing shoes, it's almost time for Latin dancing in the streets! The Streetery will be returning to downtown Durham with outdoor dancing at the CCB Plaza led by salsa experts Lulu Diaz and Takiri Folclor from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Saturday, Jun. 24. (Downtown Durham, Inc. via Instagram)
