Cumberland County

4th Friday – 4th Friday is a celebration of the arts and downtown in Fayetteville. Folks of all ages get a taste of the area’s art and entertainment while enjoying the small galleries, bookstores, bistros and shops with unique items for shoppers. Exhibits, entertainment, refreshments and featured artists all combine to bring the art of Fayetteville to everyone – free of charge! Businesses in the four and a half block of historic downtown Fayetteville join the action and become artistic venues on 4th Friday, featuring the arts in all forms, for all ages. The next 4th Friday is held on August 24.

Annual Robbins Farmer’s Day Festival – 2-4 August, Thursday 6-9pm, Friday 6pm-midnight, Saturday 9am-midnight. Free festival, small fee for Rodeo, carnival rides and games. One of the largest horse parades on the East Coast. Enjoy country, bluegrass, gospel, and beach music. Entertainment also includes fireworks, mule show, arts & crafts, and antique tractor show. 33rd Annual Revolutionary War Battle Reenactment – On 4-5 August at 4pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday a reenactment of the 1781 skirmish at the house between Loyalist (Tory) and Rebel (Whig) militias will be performed.  On display will be an encampment of soldiers and families, artillery and small arms demonstrations, craft demonstrations. First Friday of Southern Pines - “First Friday” is a monthly community nonprofit event, for all ages.  It is free of charge and family-friendly.
