Crime Alert Issued for Birch Creek Subdivision

On Wednesday, July 18, 2012 the responded to a reported home invasion in the area at around 1:00 p.m. When they arrived on scene, a teenager who was home alone said a man rang the doorbell, knocked on the door and when she did not respond, he kicked open the door. The girl hid in a back room of the home and called 911 according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's office spokesman. 

The suspect is described as a young black male, who was last seen wearing a red baseball cap and driving a silver colored car. No further description is available at this time.
