16-year-old Gabby Douglas managed to grab the top spot by one-tenth of a point. Her score of 14.85 was her lowest of the two-day trials, and she only held a 0.6 lead going into the final rotation.

"Everyone was telling me you have this great potential and you can be on top," Douglas said in an NBC report. "I didn't believe that, but everyone was just telling me to believe in myself. I did and I'm kind of up on top and it's amazing."
