Sex Offender Charged with Social Networking
Our local law enforcement are busy cracking down on offenders in Cumberland County.

Detectives have charged a Fayetteville woman with breaking the conditions of her status as a registered sex offender.
47-year old Kimberly Turner Watkins of 215 Gillespie Street is charged with maintaining a social networking site. Investigators say Watkins maintained a Facebook page under the assumed name of “K.T. Heath.” Watkins says she understood she could be arrested for having the web page, but still wanted to have contact with people and play games on Facebook according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer.
Watkins was jailed under a ten thousand dollar bond and was later released.

Sex offenders in the state of North Carolina are prohibited from maintaining a social networking site such as Facebook.
