The Museum of the Cape Fear is offering guided tours of Arsenal Park Tuesday through Friday. The site of the Fayetteville Arsenal was commissioned in 1838 by the federal government to manufacture and store arms. Seized by the Confederacy during the Civil War, the facility was destroyed by Union troops under the command of William T. Sherman in March of 1865.

Fayetteville Area Transportation Museum and Local History Museum
Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
2013 marks 100 years since the first class of Fayetteville High School received their diploma. The Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum, in collaboration with the school’s centennial, will host a commemorative exhibit with historic highlights and artifacts.
The exhibit will trace the history of what is now Terry Sanford High School and the various locations of the school and monumental experiences of students there. Tuesday April 30, 2013 - Saturday November 30, 2013
