Tropical Storm Debbie is Slow-Moving, No Impact Until the Weekend

As the rains increase in Florida, North Carolina remains dry and stable.

Tropical Storm Debby formed Saturday afternoon in the Gulf of Mexico and has slowly moved toward the Florida panhandle in the last 36 hours. The storm will bring heavy rain, but isn't likely to impact North Carolina's coast until the weekend.

On Monday afternoon, Debby was reported moving northeast at 5 mph and was about 90 miles south-southwest of Apalachicola, Fla., about 530 miles southwest of Fayetteville.
