• Occupant, firefighter injured after apartment fire spreads to pet shop; 1 dog dies (wlos.com) — A Sunday night apartment fire in downtown Franklin spread into the Smoky Mountain Pets Supplies and Grooming shop on East Main Street, injuring one resident and a firefighter and killing one dog. Fire crews say trapped occupants escaped through the attic into a lower apartment, and animals were moved to a nearby laundromat while Macon County Animal Control worked on placements.
