“Bill”

Age 68, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Greensboro, NC and Elkhart, IN passed from this life Thursday, August 26, 2021.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Diana G. (Hays) Murphey; loving father of Brian (Elaine) Murphey; proud “Papa” of Anna and Andrew; dear brother of Britt (Judy) Murphey, Susie (Nick) Darr, and fond uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Frances (nee Cichocki) Murphey; his sister, Laura Jessie.

Bill was employed at Dexter Axle for many years as a Senior Sales Engineer. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. In addition to that, he loved watching the Chicago White Sox, Carolina Hurricanes, and Chicago Bears.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Visitation for Bill will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until services begin at 12 Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Social distancing and facemasks will be observed. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris, IL.
