• Judge orders contractor to repay Iraq War veteran after roof repairs stall (wsoctv.com) — A Caldwell County judge has ordered a Lenoir-based roofing contractor to repay tens of thousands of dollars to a local Iraq War veteran after roof repairs on his storm-damaged home never began. The veteran says he’s doubtful he’ll ever recover the money and has already hired another company, while attorneys explain that unpaid judgments can lead to property being seized and auctioned. 
• Two men arrested in local narcotics ring (taylorsvilletimes.com) — Lenoir residents should know their police department helped crack a major regional narcotics operation centered in neighboring Alexander County. After a four-month investigation, officers seized large quantities of meth, cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, and moonshine, and arrested two Taylorsville men on extensive trafficking and conspiracy charges, with authorities warning that more arrests could follow.
