• Dare County's Christmas 2025 Closures and Trash Collection Schedule Changes (outerbanksvoice.com) — Manteo residents should note that the Manteo Recycle Yard will be closed December 24–26 and that residential trash pickup for Manteo and nearby communities will occur only on Tuesday, December 23, resuming Tuesday, December 30. All Dare County offices and key waste facilities, including Manns Harbor and Buxton, will also be closed December 24–26 for Christmas, with normal operations returning December 27.
   

• ‘Look what you can do with a little imagination' (outerbanksvoice.com) — A Roanoke Island home on Mother Vineyard Road in Manteo, La Casa del Wacho, has become a dazzling holiday destination with about 100,000 lights, glowing dolphins, and fantastical topiaries lit nightly from Thanksgiving through New Year’s. The story also spotlights Corolla Christmas House’s radio-synced light show and Kitty Hawk Christmas Land’s walk-through wonderland, all created by longtime Outer Banks residents who pour years of creativity into their displays.
   

• Dare Arts Announces A Call For Entry For 2026 Frank Stick Show (outerbanksvoice.com) — Dare Arts is inviting artists to submit work now for the 48th Annual Frank Stick Memorial Art Show opening at their downtown Manteo gallery on Friday, February 6, 2026. A respected former gallery director will judge, with a distinctive Best in Show award and public reception, and the exhibit will remain on view through February 28. Local businesses and individuals can also sponsor awards or the show itself.
