- For the past 15 years, Mooresville's tax rate has remained unchanged. This was one of the points celebrated Monday night after the Mooresville Board of Commissioners reportedly, unanimously passed the nearly $165 million budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year. (Mooresville Tribune)
- According to PETA's website, "A Compassionate Troop Award from PETA Kids—PETA’s youth division—is on its way to Girl Scout Troop 13179, which partnered with Future Fashion Designers in Mooresville to construct 40 beds for animals in local shelters in honor of National Pet Month (May).“By giving animals in shelters a soft spot to lay their heads, these Girl Scouts are setting a compassionate example for young people everywhere,” said PETA Senior Director of Youth Programs Marta Holmberg on the website." (PETA)
- Country singer Willie Nelson has inspired people for decades with his music, but it was not his tunes that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was inspired by, instead it was his property in Luck, Texas. Patterning his own 300-Acre Western Town, “Whisky River,” in Mooresville, after Nelson's home, Earhardt Jr. has everything he wants in one place, including a "NASCAR graveyard,” a garage, a tree house, a saloon with a full bar and a chapel.
