The regional list honors top defensive players from 102 area high schools, underscoring the level of competition Mooresville athletes face across Mecklenburg, Iredell and surrounding counties.
   

• Adelaide Van Deventer Gibson (iredellfreenews.com) — Mooresville’s Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is handling arrangements for Adelaide (Bette) Van Deventer Gibson, who recently passed away at age 89 after spending her later years at The Pines in Davidson.
