44 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Iredell Over The Weekend
At least 13 county residents were hospitalized Monday due to COVID-19 illness, county health officials said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — At least 44 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Iredell County since Friday, increasing the county's tally of COVID-19 cases to 1,949, the Iredell County Health Department reported Monday.
As of Aug. 10, at least 13 Iredell County residents were hospitalized for COVID-19 illness, and 20 residents had lost their lives from the virus, according to ICHD data.
Out of the total tally of known cases in the county, 446 residents who had tested positive remained isolated in their homes as of Monday and an estimated 1,470 cases were assumed recovered, ICHD said.

North Carolina reported 626 newly confirmed coronavirus cases Monday, one of the lowest day-over-day increases recorded in more than a month, according to data released by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

The addition of confirmed cases increased the state's overall tally of COVID-19 cases to 136,844.
As of Monday, North Carolina labs had processed more than 2 million tests throughout the state.

Iredell County health officials are grouping cases into three regions of the county: North, Central and South. Here's a breakdown of where cases have been confirmed as of 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10:
North Region (zip codes 27020, 27028, 27055, 28625, 28634, 28636, 28660, 28689 and 28678)
- 412 cases (up from 403 cases reported Aug. 7)
Central Region (zip codes 27013, 28166, 28677)
- 784 cases (up from 758 cases reported Aug. 7)
South Region (zip codes 28036, 28115, 28117, 28125)
- 753 cases (up from 744 cases reported Aug. 7)
Globally, nearly 20 million people have been infected by COVID-19, and more than 732,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Monday. In the United States, more than 5 million people have been infected and more than 163,000 people have died from COVID-19.
