The story details their dominant run, standout players, and a special Jan. 16 ceremony honoring the team’s legacy.
   

• Adelaide Van Deventer Gibson (iredellfreenews.com) — Mooresville-based Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is caring for the family of Adelaide “Bette” Van Deventer Gibson, who passed away December 17 at age 89. A longtime volunteer and choir singer who later lived in Davidson, she leaves children, stepchildren, and grandchildren across the country. A memorial service will be held later, with donations suggested to New Hampshire Audubon or St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Davidson.
