Cold Weather Drive Collecting Hats, Socks For Iredell Children

Here's how you can help make sure no child in Iredell County goes cold this winter.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Winter is coming, and one Iredell County organization is collecting hats, gloves and socks to make sure no child in the county goes cold this season.

The Iredell County Safe Kids Coalition is hosting a cold weather drive through Dec. 13, collecting winter weather items at five locations throughout the county.

"Before the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of Americans were living in poverty and struggling to pay their bills," the organization said in a statement. "As the pandemic continues, the need for other essentials this fall and winter will be greater than ever before in Iredell County."
