- Race fans take note! According to JR Motorsports, "It's official. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be among the late model competitors at North Wilkesboro Speedway later this month. Today, the NASCAR Hall of Famer confirmed he'll race a JR Motorsports entry in CARS Tour action during North Wilkesboro's Racetrack Revival on Wednesday, Aug. 31. And he'll do it with a familiar number and partner, dusting off the famed No. 3 and reuniting with iconic soda Sun Drop for the event.JR Motorsports." (JR Motorsports)
- A steadfast, mainstay fixture in the Mooresville community is retiring after four decades. Founder of Full Circle Family Medicine, Dr. James W. McNabb is retiring! Successfully creating the charm and closeness of an old country doctor’s office in the modern era, Dr. McNabb has made many contributions to healthcare and family medicine. "I am looking forward to spending quality time with my wife Liz, our children, and grandchildren. I will continue working on my personal fitness and health, playing jazz trombone with the Lake Norman Big Band, exploring fly-fishing in the North Carolina mountains, and working with St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.” McNabb said in an article in the Iredell Free News. His last day in office will be August 12. (Iredell Free News)
- The Mooresville Board of Commissioners' public hearing about an annexation and utility extension request from Century Communities Inc. hearing has been continued to the town board’s Sept. 6th meeting. According to WSOC Charlotte, "documents show the request is being made for a nearly 75-acre site off U.S. Highway 21, just north of Mooresville. Century Communities is proposing a project with 252 residential units at the site, according to its application." (WSOC Charlotte)
