Family Drive-In Movie Event Planned In Mooresville: Details

Mooresville Parks & Recreation is hosting a drive-up movie event Friday, Aug. 14. Here's what you need to know to get a ticket.

MOORESVILLE, NC — If you're looking for an activity to get the family out of the house while maintaining social distancing, Mooresville Parks & Recreation has you covered with an upcoming drive-up movie event.

"Movie Madness at Mazeppa Park" drive-up movie event, which features the movie Moana, is set to take place Friday, Aug. 14 at the park located at 645 Mazeppa Road.

Concessions will be sold at the event, say organizers.

How To Get A Ticket
The event requires the purchase of a $15 ticket per vehicle, and includes up to four bags of popcorn and four drinks, say organizers. Tickets must be purchased ahead of the event and are limited to 150 vehicles.

Here's what organizers say about the event:

  • Parking for the movie will begin at 7 p.m. - all parking areas will be blocked off prior, there will be no early arrivals allowed.
  • Movie will begin at dusk (approx. 9 p.m.)
  • No passenger vans or buses allowed.
  • Trivia and information will be on screen prior to the movies start
  • Pizza, Candy, Drinks, Popcorn and Ice Cream will be available for purchase on-site. Each vehicle will be given a tag to display when they want to let staff know they are ready to place an order. Golf Carts will be driving around the movie area to take orders
