Iredell County To Run Simulated Election, Test Voting Machines
The county's board of elections will test the new voting machine equipment for possible purchase. Here's how the public can participate.
IREDELL COUNTY — Iredell County Board of Elections will hold a simulated election and test of a new voting system and ballot marking device during a public meeting as part of the decision-making process for possible purchase of the equipment, it announced.
The meeting is set to take place Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 8:30 a.m. at the Iredell County Agricultural Building, located at 444 Bristol Drive in Statesville.
On hand for testing will be the ES&S Voting System 5240 and the ES&S Expressvote Ballot Marking Device.

"The board will also decide whether to make a preliminary recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for the purchase of this equipment," the board said.
The meeting is open to the public, and social distancing and wearing a mask will be required. For more information about the event, call 704-878-3140.
