  1. The outgoing superintendent of Mooresville Graded School District (MGSD), Dr. Stephen Mauney, was given the Citizen of the Year Award at the Mooresville South Iredelll Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Luncheon. According to the article in Lake Norman Publications, Mauney is retiring after 29 years of teaching, coaching and administrating in MGSD. Congratulations Dr. Mauney and good luck in your retirement!   2. Are you done with spring cleaning yet? If not, don't worry, the Community Clean-Up event will be held on Saturday, June 11, from 8 a.m.-noon! You can drop off unwanted items in the parking lot at the corner of East Iredell Avenue and North Church Street. Or, you can schedule pick-up for items such as furniture, electronics and most household debris by calling 704-799-4222.   3. On June 10, an opening reception for Moorseville Art Gallery's newest shows will be held.
