Mooresville Man Charged In Statutory Rape Case: Sheriff

Caleb Lee Marrero, 20, was charged with statutory rape of a child under 15, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man has been arrested and faces numerous sex crimes after he was accused of statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

On Feb. 19, the sheriff's office received a report identifying Caleb Lee Marrero, 20, as the suspect in the case.

Based on evidence and an interview with the victim, investigators obtained six felony warrants for Marrero's arrest.

Marrero was arrested and taken into custody March 1. He was charged with three counts of felony statutory rape of a child less than 15 years old by an adult and three counts of felony statutory sex offense with a minor less than 15 years old by an adult. His secured bond was set at $75,000, ICSO said.
