MPD's Annual Heroes & Helpers Event Set For Dec. 12: Details
During this annual event, 15 children will be treated to breakfast with Santa before a shopping spree at Target with Mooresville officers.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville Police Department will soon kick start the holiday season for more than a dozen children in Mooresville through its annual Heroes and Helpers shopping spree event and Breakfast with Santa.
The Heroes and Helpers event, which is held in partnership with Target and the Salvation Army, is set for Saturday, Dec. 12. This year, the event will treat 15 local children ages 5 through 11.
"The purpose of Heroes and Helpers is to bring joy and hope to underserved or underprivileged families with a positive and fun experience that everyone, including the officers, will enjoy and remember," MPD said in a statement.

This year marks the fifth year for the event that pairs children from the community with Mooresville police officers for a shopping trip at Target to buy items such as clothing and toys. Participating families will also receive a gift card for a holiday meal at the end of the event.
The event is "a collaborative effort of the Mooresville community to take care of Mooresville families, and is a part of MPD's ongoing effort to build trust and strengthen relationships between the police and the community," said event organizer, MPD Detective Daniel Miglin.
