Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

  1. With summer almost here the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office’s new SAFE boat will help with water rescues on Lake Norman. The boat, which took about a year to custom build, is specially equipped with specialized sonar, heat-detecting systems and enough horsepower to cross from one side of the lake to the other in just minutes. This is a great addition to water safety on the lake. (WSOC Charlotte)
  2. A waterfront, Lake Norman mansion in Mooresville has gone on the market for nearly $7 million. Stephen and Susan Kromer are selling their 6.5-acre estate complete with five bedrooms, six full baths, three half-baths, an infinity-edge saltwater pool with a spa, lap lane and a nearby fire pit with built-in seating, a covered dock with boat slip and lifts, and a 620 concrete block sea wall, because they are reportedly building a slightly smaller home somewhere else on the lake. The sale of their home at nearly $7 million would represent the second-highest home purchase in Iredell County. The top-sold home on record is just two doors down from the Kromers — the $7.5 million Grand Lac Chateau. (Charlotte Observer)
  3. Want to add a shaggy ball of four-legged love and affection to your family? Look no further than these Mooresville animal shelters for a pet available for adoption. Many pets are still looking for their forever home and facilities are still working to fulfill adoptions and place pets with families. (Mooresville Patch)
