Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

  1. There was a drowning at Lake Norman on Tuesday. According to WBTV, " officials say the incident happened around 9 a.m. at the Hager’s Creek Access Area of Lake Norman around Mooresville. Details are limited, but they say the incident involved a ski boat and resulted in the drowning." (WBTV)
  2. Madi Trimble, a junior at North Carolina State University has been highlighted in the Mooresville Tribune, as a "Notable Neighbor" for her creative prowess as a videographer. The article states that, "This summer Trimble is working for the Mooresville Spinners college league baseball team in the Iredell County city of Mooresville. Her role as director of creative social media allows her to manage everything from videography to creating graphics for social media to creating TikTok videos with the team. Trimble said she would love to work for the Charlotte Knights minor league baseball team or the Charlotte Hornets NBA team." (Mooresville Tribune)
  3. If you're looking to add a four-legged ball of love and affection to your household, look no further than these animal shelters in the Mooresville area for a pet who needs a home.
Millions of pets are surrendered or taken in each year by adoption facilities nationwide, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. However, only around half of all shelter pets are adopted each year, ASPCA data shows. If you're on a search for your new friend, consider starting at a local facility like Lake Norman Humane, where Ranger the dog is waiting patiently.(Mooresville Patch)
