🌱Senior Prom For True 'Seniors' + 'Derm Doctor' Earns AAPI Award

1. Why should teenagers get to have all the fun? Mooresville’s second annual "Senior," Senior prom is planned for those who are 55 and over. The Fab at Fifty-Five+ event is scheduled for June 18, from 7 to 11 p.m. with lots of fun activities on the menu, at the Hilton Garden Inn on Gateway Boulevard. There will reportedly be dinner, dancing, a scavenger hunt, comic entertainment by comedian Church Mother Zelma and more. The cost is $50 for single and $90 for couples. 2. This is an early heads-up for art lovers! Starting in November, Mooresville Arts will be hosting the travel show for the 155th annual International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society. Reportedly, the travel exhibition dates begin Nov. 1 and continues through Jan. 4. Unique, one-of-a-kind watercolor paintings from nationally and internationally known artists will be gracing the walls of the Mooresville Arts Center Gallery. Several of the masterpieces will be for sale. Art lovers, mark your calendars now for this very special event!(Mooresville Tribune)
3. TikTok has named Dr. Muneeb Shah, known as "The Derm Doctor," AAPI, Asian American Pacific Islander, Trailblazer of the Year. He is a partner at PC Dermatology in Mooresville who reportedly found his calling to the field of dermatology after taking a biology class at community college. Now he has gone "viral" on social media sharing skincare videos that he originally made just for family and friends. Hoping to be a positive influence on young people a large majority of Shah's digital content is focused on acne. (Spectrum News)
