  1. It will be easier than ever to watch the races and stay up to date on the outcomes this summer. According to an article in SpeedwayMedia.com, "Camping World, America’s Recreation Dealer, returns as title sponsor for the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX). The six-race short-track series will be airing primetime on Saturday nights this summer on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. (SpeedwayMedia.com)
  2. Are you up for a race this weekend? Charlotte-area residents are invited to a free community-wide event, aimed at increasing sleep health education. The family-oriented, fun afternoon will include on-site sleep center screenings, read-aloud bedtime stories, bouncing inflatables, face painters, two instructed yoga sessions and other interactive events. The event kicks off with a a 5K run/walk, with pajama-clad runners who will hit the streets of Charlotte to raise awareness about healthy sleep. Proceeds will go to benefit the AASM Foundation and Sleep Research Society Foundation. The race starts at 7 a.m. at Romare Bearden Park. (Qcitymetro.com)

Siblings who live in Iredell County are set to compete against each other, as well as, the best 234 spellers in the county at the upcoming 2022 National Scripps Spelling Bee, which will be held this week in National Harbor, Maryland and hosted by LeVar Burton. Rishidharan “Rishi” Jayakumar, a seventh-grader at The Brawley School, and his sister, Harini Jayakumar, a fourth-grader at Langtree Charter Academy, qualified for the national championship, placing first and second, respectively, at the regional competition competing against one another for the last four rounds. The siblings practice their spelling for approximately four hours every day and they have a professional coach, who is a professor at Cambridge University. The 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee finals will be televised. (Iredelfreenews.com)
