Speed, Alcohol Factors In Fatal Mooresville Crash: MPD
Mooresville Police identified the 26-year-old victim who died in an early morning single-car crash near Brawley School Road.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville police identified the victim of a fatal single-car crash that occurred near Brawley School Road shortly after midnight that also led to power outages for nearby homes.
The Sept. 4 crash involving a Toyota truck occurred around 12:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Oak Tree Road near Fernbrook Drive and Brawley School Road, Mooresville Police Department said.
"The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway striking a utility pole and overturning," MPD said. "The crash caused power lines to fall and residents and businesses in the area experienced a power outage."

According to police, Zachary Robert Speicher, 26, was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. A second occupant of the truck — Andrew Kindley, 33, of Mooresville — survived the accident and was treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, and police said "Speed and alcohol are contributing factors in this crash."
