Feb. 22 Vaccination Event In Statesville Canceled: ICHD

The first-come, first-serve mass vaccination event has been canceled due to a vaccine shipment delay.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A drive-thru vaccination event scheduled for Monday in Statesville originally offering a free coronavirus vaccine to anyone over 65, high-risk medical providers, and first responders has been canceled due to a shipping delay in vaccines, according to Iredell County Health Department.

The Feb. 22 vaccination event was to be held at Hebron Baptist Church, located at 175 Hebron Road in Statesville, beginning at 10 a.m.

ICHD said it would soon announce a rescheduling for the event.

Iredell County residents currently have four options for accessing vaccines in the county. Iredell County Health Department, Iredell Memorial Hospital, Davis Regional Hospital and Lake Norman Regional Hospital are the only healthcare providers administering the vaccine.

As of Feb. 17, more than 26,000 vaccines had been administered in Iredell County, of which about 18,000 were first doses and nearly 9,000 second doses, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
