Winning $1M Mega Millions Lottery Ticket Sold In Mooresville

Check your lottery tickets because a winning $1 million ticket was sold in Mooresville Tuesday. Here's where, lottery officials said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Check your lottery tickets, Mooresville, because the town is on a winning streak. A winning $1 million Mega Millions lottery ticket was sold in Mooresville Tuesday, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

The winner purchased the $2 Mega Millions ticket at Fast Phil's on Brawley School Road in Mooresville. According to lottery officials, the $2 ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls, 15-19-33-39-68, beating odds of 1 in 12.6 million.

The winner has 180 days to claim their prize, NCEL said.

"The win was the second time in two weeks that a ticket in North Carolina won a $1 million prize in the game," NCEL said.

It's also the third time an area resident won big this month. Earlier this month, NCEL announced that Mooresville resident William Stanley scored a $100,000 lottery win during a shopping trip to Walmart in Kannapolis.

Days after news of Stanley's win, another Mooresville man won a $4 million lottery prize after buying a winning ticket at Food Lion on River Highway. Kenneth Stewart won the big prize after buying a $20 "Ruby Red 7s" game and claimed a lump sum payout at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
