  1. Kick off the summer with the Memorial Day eve gathering on Sunday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tin Roof, at 300 Glenwood Ave. The long weekend calls for an extra night to party! The fun kicks off at 1 p.m. with DJ Quay on the rooftop and is followed by live music from Hatchback at 6:30 p.m. and then DJ Image takes over the Tin Roof stage and keeps you moving on the dance floor all night long at 10 p.m. Hope to see you there! 2. The Montessori School of Raleigh, an online learning platform to empower students and keep them safe in the digital world, has been implemented building social media lessons into the curriculum for fourth through 12th graders. According to WTVD-TV, "Melissa Edwards, director of educational technology at the school said, 'People do look at their social media presence, online footprints and we want our kids to be ready for that. We want to make sure our kids are ready for walking out into the world and shielding them from these kinds of experiences doesn't serve that purpose.'" (WTVD-TV)
  3. Wednesday evening in Raleigh over 30 firefighters battled at an apartment complex located at 940 Hearthridge Court. The fire reportedly broke out just after 8 p.m. and was visible outside an apartment unit on a deck. According to WRAL News, "The fire mainly impacted the exterior of the building, and there was minimal damage to the roof. The Raleigh Fire Department was able to contain the fire within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported. An investigation of the incident is underway." (WRAL News)
