Chesterbrook Academy Students Donate To Those in Need This Holiday
Students worked together to donate essential supplies, clothes and gather monetary donations

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in Raleigh recently held a supply drive for the Women’s Center of Raleigh, an organization that serves marginalized single women experiencing homelessness, with histories of severe and persistent mental health, sexual assault, violence, and trauma. For the past few weeks, students held a supply drive and collected personal care and essential hygiene items to benefit women and children supported by the organization. After the collection, students created 98 “Hope Bags” filled with these items, which the organization will then distribute to those in need.
In addition to the supply drive, students also held a fundraiser and donated more than $550 for A Place at the Table, a pay-what-you-can cafe in Raleigh. Students also donated dozens of clothes to a Note in the Pocket, a nonprofit that aims to provide quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity and love. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of giving back to their community, especially during the holiday season.
