NC Foundation at center of I-Team Troubleshooter investigation could face contempt charge (abc11.com) — A Durham-based youth foundation that ran summer camps in both Durham and Raleigh is under increased scrutiny after more than 30 former employees filed complaints about unpaid wages and bounced checks. State labor officials say the Courtney Jordan Foundation has repeatedly failed to turn over payroll records and could face civil contempt if it doesn’t comply, while only one former worker reports receiving even partial payment so far.

North Carolina pub closed after it's hit by car; charges expected in crash, officials say (myfox8.com) — A Clayton pub is closed indefinitely after a car left Main Street, crossed two yards, and crashed partway through the building, prompting officials to deem it unsafe. The driver, who may have had a medical issue, was taken to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh with minor injuries as investigators prepare traffic charges.

Wilmington community hold meeting to address issue of water possibly being taken out of the Cape Fear River (wwaytv3.com) — State water regulators in Raleigh are being urged to approve Fuquay-Varina’s request to use Cape Fear River water only if the town returns what it takes, instead of diverting it permanently to the Neuse. Wilmington leaders warn that losing up to 6 million gallons a day could hurt 27,000 households, especially in drought, and are pushing residents to submit comments by February 1.
