• NCDOT awards contract for N.C. 107 reconfiguration (smokymountainnews.com) — Drivers, business owners, and cyclists in Sylva face big changes as NCDOT launches a $103 million overhaul of N.C. 107 from Mill Street to Lovedale Road, adding turn lanes, bulb-outs, and bike lanes. Construction is set to start in 2026, run mostly at night, and keep at least one lane open each way while maintaining access to every business along the corridor.
