Brightmore of Wilmington Will Host Its Annual Fall Festival for the Greater Wilmington Community to Benefit the Dementia Alliance of NC

Members of the greater Wilmington community are invited to enjoy music, games, food and fun at Brightmore of Wilmingtonβs annual Fall Festival. The family-friendly event will be held on October 11th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the senior living communityβs campus. Admission is free.
Brightmore of Wilmington is a premier senior living community offering vibrant independent living. Its beautiful campus also includes The Kempton of Brightmore Catered Assisted Living and The Commons of Brightmore Assisted Living and Memory Care.
The festival will feature a variety of carnival-style games, a balloon artist, pumpkin decorating, face painting, therapeutic dogs and puppies, farm animals, a pie-in-the-face event, and other activities.

The event will host approximately 20 local artisans featuring, for purchase, their jewelry, pottery, woodworking, candles, pet treats/collars, and other items.
Food trucks from local eateries will include On Thyme, Pelicans Snowballs, and Wheelz Pizza.

Live music will be performed by Port City Rockers.
There will be something for everyone to do.
Local businesses have donated items for gift baskets that will be raffled off. These include Raking in Fall, a rake with lottery tickets attached; a one-night stay in a riverfront suite at the downtown Embassy Suites; a day in Carolina Beach basket with tickets to the aquarium; a gift card to a local restaurant for dinner and a gift card for Island Tours; tickets to a UNCW basketball game; and more. Proceeds from the raffles will benefit the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina, which supports education and research into Alzheimerβs and dementia.
βThis is an important cause for us,β said Haley Kinne-Norris, INSPIRE Wellness and Enrichment Coordinator for Liberty Senior Living, which owns and operates Brightmore of Wilmington. βWe want to support our residents in The Commons Memory Care at Brightmore, as well as their families and the greater Wilmington community.β All the money donated to the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina is used specifically to support initiatives within North Carolina.
Parking for the festival will be across the street from Brightmore of Wilmington at John T. Hoggard High School, 4305 Shipyard Boulevard. A free shuttle will take attendees to the festival site on the campus of Brightmore of Wilmington, 2324 41st Street.
For those who cannot attend, donations are welcome and can be mailed or dropped off on the campus.
