- During the city council meeting last week, the Wilmington City Council considered a resolution awarding a $7 million dollar contract to build a new fire station in RiverLights. The developer of RiverLights donated the three-acre property to the city on River Road in hopes of providing more fire safety. If all is approved, construction for the new firehouse will begin within the next 60 days, with the expectation the project will be complete in a year. (WECT)
