• Wilson woman accused of defrauding police chief, mayor and husband in identity theft scheme (wral.com) — A Wilson County woman is facing 190 charges in a sweeping identity theft and fraud case that investigators say targeted her husband, the Wilson police chief, the city’s mayor and others. Authorities allege she stole identities to obtain insurance payouts, retirement funds and weight-loss drugs, then administered those medications to about 20 people as part of the ongoing probe. 
• Farm Bureau congratulates president, agents (wilsontimes.com) — Wilson County Farm Bureau President Randal Barnes and the Wilson County/Thomas Agency were recently honored at the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation’s annual meeting in Greensboro. Every local agent in the Thomas Agency won a production contest, earning special plaques, while Barnes received a limited-edition Case knife alongside other top-performing county presidents.
